In the late hours of Oct. 23, the staff of a VOM partner organization gathered to launch Bibles into North Korea via balloon. The launch party prepared packages containing lightweight Korean New Testaments, attached them to hydrogen-filled balloons, and released a total of 3,600 into the air. After the overnight launch, the group was just 675 short of their goal of sending 48,000 into a country where the Bible is forbidden. As winter approaches, fewer days will provide weather conditions suitable for balloon launches.
