| Reflections from the Horn—Part 1 Posted: 01 May 2012 08:34 AM PDT Jim Warren, Executive Director of Radical, had the opportunity to travel to the Horn of Africa just one week after Secret Church and spend time with friends who are serving among the people of the Horn of Africa. We asked him to share about his time in the Horn and will be posting his reflections throughout the week. It is surreal. Friday April 13, just one week after Secret Church. The very same Secret Church where we prayed for the over 100 million people who live in the Horn of Africa… In the Horn at Last! Our Sunday was very similar to what we might do at home. We gathered with other believers for a time of corporate worship, praise, prayer, and the study of God's Word…It was actually very much like our weekly small group gathering at home, and it felt very comfortable and familiar, even though we have only met most of those in attendance as we walked in the door. My greatest takeaway from this morning was this: If we think we need more than what we have at a small gathering of believers in a home somewhere in the world, we are missing the very object of our worship, the Lord Jesus Christ. Our experience this very morning was a great reminder of that. Pray:
Throughout the month of April, we focused on praying for the people of the Horn of Africa. Will you continue to lift them up with us? Visit Pray for the Horn for additional information, stories, and prayer requests. |
