| Posted: 11 Sep 2012 03:30 AM PDT We rejoice to report that Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani has been released from his Iranian prison and is now reuniting with his family. Voice of the Martyrs’ Prisoner Alert, who has aggressively campaigned on his behalf by urging people to pray and write letters, says that he was released just 3 days ago, on September 8, after a total of 1,062 days in prison. According to the press statement that was released by the U.S. Department of State yesterday, ”This comes after nearly three harrowing years during which he faced a death penalty sentence on charges of apostasy.” We asked you to pray for Pastor Youcef nearly a year ago, and then again on February 24. Take some time to give thanks to God for answering those prayers. Praise Him, the Almighty. May God, who is “mighty to save” (Isaiah 63:1) in far greater a capacity than even this amazing story demonstrates, receive the glory and honor and worship that is due Him. Now pray for our brothers and sisters who are still facing persecution, imprisonment, and death. As the Department of State notes (calling for the immediate release of all other prisoners unjustly incarcerated), Iran far from religiously free. Lastly, pray that as a result of Pastor Youcef’s release, “[God's] way may be known on earth, [His] saving power among all nations” (Psalm 67:2). May He mercifully save the souls of those who are now enemies of Him to the praise of His glorious name. “Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!” – Psalm 67:3 |
