Day 34: An Increasing Challenge Posted: 04 Apr 2012 11:00 PM PDT During this Secret Church on Good Friday, April 6, we are focusing our prayer time on the people of the Horn of Africa. Throughout the weeks leading up to Secret Church we will post information and prayer requests on this blog. We invite you to join us in learning about and praying for the people of the Horn. Photo Courtesy of Daniel Phillips Islam is an increasing challenge in Kenya. The coast and northwestern Kenya have been Muslim for centuries. Islam is still a relatively small minority, but it is growing in size and ambition. Muslims seek to Islamize the regions where they are prevalent, to implement shari'a law, to increase their presence in civil services and the government, and to convert non-Muslims through financial inducements. Tensions between Christians and Muslims are at an unprecedented level, and violent outbreaks are increasingly common. Although there are many converts from Islam to Christianity, they are subject to harassment, persecution, and violence. Ways to Pray Pray for peace between the Christian and Muslim communities. Pray for Christ-followers to have effective witness as they minister to Muslims. Ask God to reveal Himself to truth-seekers. Pray that they will find the Messiah.
