If you joined us for the simulcast, maybe your head has stopped spinning from attempting to drink from a fire hydrant. Maybe not. But maybe you’re ready to revisit the truths taught on the topic of suffering and dive a little deeper. If that’s the case (and we hope it is!), here are a few resources that might be helpful. From the Radical Resource Library Why: The Gospel and Suffering — This four-part series urges us to explore the gospel and suffering in the book of Job. Secret Church: Who Is God? — In this Secret Church study, Pastor David teaches about the character of God, covering the names of God and attributes of God. Questions regarding the mysteries of God—the Trinity, the sovereign will of God, God and evil—are also addressed. Secret Church: The Cross of Christ — Pastor David teaches about the centrality of the Cross to our lives as Christ-followers in this Secret Church study. Topics include the reality, history, meaning, journey, intent, and effects of the Cross. Search the Resource Library — Several messages in our Resource Library are tagged with the topic of “suffering.” You can search by Scripture reference as well if you’re looking for more on a specific Book of the Bible—which could be helpful since Pastor David pretty much covered the entire Bible from cover-to-cover! * All of the messages in our Resource Library have additional resources such as message notes, small group guides, family worship guides that may be helpful as you study on your own or with your small group. Click on the “Materials” button for each message to download these PDFs. Recommended Reading From the Study Guide — Pastor David included a list of recommended reading resources on page 216 of your Study Guide. Many of these books were foundational for the truths explored in The Cross and Suffering. (If you don’t have a Study Guide, you can download one on our website.) Horn of Africa Our prayer emphasis for Secret Church was the Horn of Africa. We’ve heard from many of you that learning about and praying for the people of the Horn has been incredibly powerful for you. We hope you’ll continue praying for this region with us! Pray for the Horn — Pray for the Horn is calling Christians around the world to join together for a month-long prayer emphasis for the people of the Horn. If you haven’t checked out their website yet, you’re missing out on some great information and awesome stories of how the Lord is moving!
