| Day 35: Bilcho—In Her Own Words Posted: 05 Apr 2012 11:00 PM PDT During this Secret Church on Good Friday, April 6, we are focusing our prayer time on the people of the Horn of Africa. Throughout the weeks leading up to Secret Church we will post information and prayer requests on this blog. We invite you to join us in learning about and praying for the people of the Horn. "Years ago, when I was a girl, I attended a mission school. It was only open for a few years but they provided a good education. Though we were all Muslim, our parents let us attend because it was inexpensive and there was no other school in our village. This school closed when the Communists started their takeover of the government. But by that time I had turned to Jesus. Of course there was much pressure on me and the few others who had turned to Jesus for forgiveness and life. Our families reasoned with us, beat us, even bribed us. But the way they put an end to my growth was by marrying me to a strict Muslim. That finished my opportunities to read the Bible and pray. I eventually buried that part of my life when I got busy with having babies and keeping a home. Now more than 30 years later, I find that two of my sons are believers! They have kept the secret from their father but they cannot keep it from me. I notice them praying and I have seen the Bible they hide in their blanket. I have a precious peace—my children walk with the Lord! As much as anyone, I know that others will try to block their path and change their minds. The pressure on them will be tremendous, but I will do whatever I can to help them." Ways to Pray
