Throughout the month of March, we will be posting daily about Chinese Muslims, the prayer focus for our upcoming Secret Church gathering. We invite you to learn about Chinese Muslims and pray with us for God's glory to be made known among them. If you would like to read other posts in this blog series, you can find them here.

“Look at the nations and be amazed! Watch and be astounded at what I will do! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn't believe even if someone told you about it.” Habakkuk 1:5

Islam entered China in AD 600's, about the same time that Nestorian Christians from Syria brought Christianity to China. Muslims intermarried and settled in China, keeping their religious beliefs while Christianity died out with its missionaries. Islam is viewed as a religion of China while Christianity is seen as a foreign religion.

Muslims often believe:

  • That the Bible has been altered and corrupted. They will deny its authority because they see it as not being authentic and reliable.
  • That the Holy Trinity implies a belief in three gods. Many Muslims believe that the Christian Trinity is made up of the Father, Mary (the virgin) and the Son (Jesus).
  • They believe it is blasphemy to affirm the divinity of Jesus and to give Him the title "Son of God". Many believe this implies that God has sexual relations with Mary and that a son was born physically through the union. (This idea is also unacceptable to Christians)

PLEASE PRAY

  • Pray the truth about the Bible will be known among the Hui.
  • Pray the truth about the Trinity will be known among the Hui.
  • Pray the truth about the relationship between Jesus and God will be known among the Hui.
